Who sponsors the RYS?

The RYS is a project of the Universal Peace Federation UPF) and thus receives much of its funding from that organization.

RYS is primarily an educational program and therefore partners with other service organizations that also support our activities financially. Among the 100+ cosponsors of RYS are the Red Cross of Hungary; Caritas, Rome; CONJUVE (Ministry of Youth) in Honduras and Guatemala; Women's Federation for World Peace; the Gandhi Museum of Madura, India; Caritas, Spain; Muhammadia, Indonesia; the Budapest Mayor's Office; the Ministry of Religion in Haiti; the Ministry of Gender of Indonesia; the Ministry of Unity of Malaysia; the Ubon Governor's Office of Thailand; and the Office of the Vice President of Uganda.

Groups that sponsor RYS believe that free, healthy expression of religion and spirituality is fundamental to a healthy society. The RYS does not side with any political party or take any political stands, although it has received some support from various government agencies.

RYS participants are volunteers; therefore, each participant is asked to pay a participant fee that helps to defer project costs. The fee scale slides relative to project circumstances.

UPF, the parent organization to RYS, is a registered 501(c)3 and therefore receives donations to support ongoing activities.
