Why is it called the “Religious” Youth Service?

     Our volunteers, whether Muslim or Jew, Christian or Hindu, Buddhist or of any other faith, have much to share and much to discover from one another. It is this cooperative inter-faith element that makes RYS distinct from any other social service project. RYS focuses on youth because young people are the future of our global society, and focuses on service because altruistic behavior and virtuous actions are critical for good citizenship and lasting peace.
