Dr. Sherry Hartmanm

Dr. Sherry Hartman has 17 years teaching management and most recently doctoral level nursing courses. Her specialties are community health, and leadership.  In addition, she has more than 20 years of experience-based leadership training in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.  She has worked in leadership with RYS over a twenty-ear period in more than 10 countries and has been instrumental in refining the experiential learning model that has distinguished RYS as a service-learning project.
Sherry’s Doctorate of Public Health is from Tulane University[www2.tulane.edu/].  She is the author of numerous articles and chapters in books on community health.   She also has an article on religion and health in Unfolding Bodymind: Exploring Possibility Through Education.  Of particular interest to RYS are her many conference presentations on mass violence (war) as a public health risk.  Her public health model of peace building is often discussed in RYS educational settings.
