RYS Indonesia's Exchange of Good Practices

In 2008 RYS Indonesia was invited to partner with the Center of Studies and European Initiatives (CESIE) for a 10-country research project which has been taking place in Europe. The project 'The World is only One Creature', is a research and exchange of good practices in the fight against racism and xenophobia. Believing that cooperation yields the greatest success each country organizations share their best practices through the use of dialogue, youth exchange, and job-shadowing.

RYS Indonesia had the great privilege to receive Marie Marzlof from Palermo, Italy who shared her good practices from the CESIE organization. These included the concept of multi-cultural youth football coaching, a food sharing night, and a culture exchange of music and performance. In return, she participated in an RYSI-SFP cultural exchange program as part of a 10-day RYS project - it was a day of discovery in which individuals were challenged to locate specific places of historical interest in the city of Jakarta , collecting souvenirs to exchange with other participants and interview native community members.
